Can’t blame mom who always feel exhausted due to long journey from my hometown (5 hours by train + 1.5 hours taxi trip to airport + 1.5 hours flight to Singapore + 0.5 hour taxi trip to my condo + 0.5 hour taxi trip to changi + 1 hour flight to KL + 1 hour bus trip to hotel), and still had to save energy to go back hometown on Sunday, where my dad was waiting and counting the days to meet her again. (っ˘з(˘⌣˘ ) ♡
So we finally had to canceled our plan to KL Bird Park and went straight to KLCC to visit Petronas twin tower.
Wednesday, 14 December 2016.
It was hot and sunny when we arrived at KLIA around 11:30AM. We had three options to go to our hotel at Sentral, around Brickfields district. By Taxi, it will take about 45 mins, 80 MYR per trip. By MRT, it will take about 40 mins, 70 MYR for 2 persons. By Bus, it will take about 1 hour, 24 MYR for 2 persons. Mom decided to take bus instead, which is cheaper. The bus took us from KLIA to Sentral bus station. And from there, we took a taxi which cost us only 9 MYR. (*¯︶¯*)
my dearie dearie reader,
this fun map might help you to walk around Penang and hunt down all those street art while you’re in town. Penang is not a big city, you can go anywhere around the Georgetown area by walk. Just follow this map and have fun!!

This is my last meal before I left Penang and back to Singapore. The need of fast wifi connection almost brought me back to Snapdot, but finally I found this The Safe Room Café not too far from the hotel–since I needed to go back hotel and take taxi there to airport. This café located at 42, Lebuh Campbell, George Town, 10100 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia.
Since I left with less than 30 minutes to finish my dinner and rush back to airport, I only managed to ordered tomyam spaghetti. But this dish was SUPERB!!! This was the best western+eastern food combination I have ever tried! ヽ(♡‿♡)ノ
day-3, Friday 15 April 2016,
Last day in Penang, but my day started a bit late. I still had to accompany my parents until they left to airport at 1PM, only then I could start my solo-exploration. The hotel offered us a tourist map where they have all the street arts location. And turned out most of the street arts were just walking distance from our hotel! ヽ(>∀<☆)ノ
But before that! Morning before my parents left to airport, we walked around the hotel and found a wet market! Mom was so happy and she is a haggle expert! We managed to buy some stuffs at the wet market. Then we found a traditional Penang snacks store called Ban Heang, at Jalan Macalister. I bought some snacks for friends and colleagues before we heading back hotel and had lunch at the hotel ground floor.
day-2, Thursday 14 April 2016,
My plan for today was to bring my parents up to Penang Hill–the highest place in Penang where we can see the city view from the top of the hill–without me knowing my mom has a minor acrophobia. (*/ω＼)
I was hesitating since last night, do I have to contact one of the taxi driver I took their name cards to bring us to the Penang Hill Lower Station, or can we just stop the taxi from outside the hotel. My dad suggested we just stop any taxi and haggle on the price. But then we met a very nice waitress at the restaurant below the hotel, she suggested us to take public bus instead of taxi, with only 2RM per person. The bus terminal was inside Prangin Mall, which was only walking distance from our hotel. So indeed, we were following her suggestion. ( ´ ▽ ` )
TaxiFareFinder said the fare from our hotel to Penang Hill Lower Station was 10.92RM. Other bloggers said taxi fare from Georgetown area to the Lower Station was around 35-40RM. But we managed to get only 6RM for three of us! ☆*:.｡.o(≧▽≦)o.｡.:*☆ I was so happy I saved a lot of ringgit here!! We took bus number 204 and surprisingly, the bus was as good as buses in Singapore! ヽ(o^―^o)ﾉ
day-1, Wednesday 13 April 2016,
Today is my mom’s birthday. That was actually my main reason I flew to Penang, Malaysia, to meet my parents. They were having medical check ups since Monday, and the result came out today. So I was there to cheer up my parents–especially my mom since it was her birthday and she wasn’t feeling well since few months ago, and also I always wanted to buy her flower. It was a coincidence there was a brand new flower stall in the shopping mall nearby my place. And so without second thought, I bought the blue roses for her. ♡ ～(‘▽^人)
I touched down Penang around 11:10AM. The sky was so bright and sunny. I was excited to meet my parents in the hospital, but suddenly the airport staffs stopped me for bringing alive flowers. I told them it was only the blue roses that alive, the rest was only plastic flowers. They finally let me go with the bouquet after some questions. Nice staffs. (o˘◡˘o)
