Sunday, 30 April 2017, it’s a sunny and hot day in Gold Coast!
From our hotel, we took tram from NorthCliffe Station to the end, BroadBeach South Station. From this tram station we changed to bus #700 all the way to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. The total journey took us almost an hour. <(￣︶￣)>
a handy Gold Card will take us to around Gold Coast for 10AUS within 24 hours
After we changed our online ticket at the ticket booth, we opened the gate and immediately saw some sleeping koalas and kangaroos lying around. Then the 3 of us lured by koala-cuddling session which cost us 25AUD to have picture with this smelly little guy. ╰(*´︶`*)╯
There were only 2 staffs at Koala-Cuddle Booth. One staff helped us to pose like a tree and warned us not to move or swing while the smelly little guy cling on my hands. And that was the most stinky animal I’ve ever touched! The other staff was the cashier as well as the amateur photographer who just suddenly took our picture and the other staff immediately took back the koala from my tree-shaped hands and asked us to stepped out to the exit within 5 seconds. (」°ロ°)」
That’s it?!!! (°ㅂ°╬)
My friends couldn’t get me nice pictures as well while I was holding the Koala since it was backlight, and we only had 5 seconds before the staffs took my picture and asked us to leave. And the 25AUD picture result was terrible. Taken by an amateur who acted as cashier and photographer, worst lighting and I wasn’t ready yet. The 3 of us was so disappointed but continued to explore the sanctuary anyway.
the staff taught me how to form a tree-shaped hands for this stinky cute guy
smiling happily while holding my breathe…. ugh!
My dear readers, if you want to really cuddle or hug a not-so-stinky koala, you may want to try it at Dreamworld. Check out my day-9 here.
We walked around the sanctuary, hopped on the small train to the hospital. And boy how this hospital reminds me about my childhood dream to become a vet! Wouldn’t it be cool to become a vet in Aussie, taking care of cute koalas, kangaroos, quokkas and wombats? ( ´ ▽ ` ).｡ｏ♡
But that’s not my path.
But moving to Aussie probably my path, only I have to do my best to make my way there. ٩(◕‿◕)۶
White ibis, peacocks, emus are walking around freely in this sanctuary. We watched the bird show which wasn’t as great as the show I watched in Bird Park, Singapore. After that I got an opportunity to be on the stage and sheared a sheep named Barbara! ٩(｡•́‿•̀｡)۶
And here, my dear readers, actually the better spot to do Tree Top Adventure! I tell you once again : do NOT go to Wyong for the Tree Top Adventure, instead please go to this Sanctuary since you will have more things to see. And who knows maybe you could get opportunity to have good selfies with kangaroos or emu or seared another Barbara? ヽ(o^―^o)ﾉ
i gave barbara a new haircut… she loves it!
The sanctuary closed at 5 PM. We took the same bus #700 to BroadBeach South Station, and from there we continued with tram to Surfer Paradise to have superb ribs at the Hurricane, one of the recommended restaurant in Aussie. ☆ ～(‘▽^人)
That’s it for a wildlife day!
Too bad I didn’t see any quokkas or wallabies in this Sanctuary. But hey! Tomorrow we’re going to cycling around Surfers Paradise! It must be cool! Cya! (ﾉ´ヮ`)ﾉ*: ･ﾟ
